As so many of you are aware, 2008 began for Sedgehill with an Ofsted Inspection on the third day of term! I am delighted to summarise some of the wonderful comments that support our school and Ofsted judgement that Sedgehill is a ‘good school with outstanding features’.

• “The pupils and parents are very positive about their school, noting that it has improved rapidly and developed some outstanding features in recent years under the determined leadership of the headteacher”.

• “Improving achievement and the personal development of all students is at the heart of all that the school does”.

• “It is greatly to the school’s credit that no student is allowed to slip through the net”. You will, I’m sure, also be interested in following the progress of our new school building. We are very excited that the new building will be ready for us to move in to in December 2008. I hope you will also take the opportunity to explore some of our Performing Arts Specialist Status work, this is a real area of strength at Sedgehill. So it has been a positive start to 2008 here at Sedgehill, we anticipate some strong exam success and an academic year to be proud of.
